“Curating with a collector’s eye and a traveler’s heart.”

Jennifer Klos: Art Consultant

Art is a part of our lives. It can be a blend of old and new, sophistication and whimsy, design and deeper meaning.

Jennifer Klos: Art Consultant

I’m Jennifer Klos, an art curator & advisor for private collectors and homes, galleries, and museums. I give people who love art and style a way to learn more. I bring individuality and a great eye to people who want to buy art, but might not know where or how to start.

Art is layered and storied. Collected spaces, whether in a home or a gallery, should feel that way, too. At the heart of it I’m a curator who helps people choose. I love bringing that blend of art & design to the work I do.

Founded in 2015, Collector House Inc. is a boutique art advisory firm specializing in the acquisition of modern and contemporary art, including fine and decorative arts. Jennifer is an independent curator and a board member of the Attingham Trust for the study of Country Houses and Collections. She is a member of the Association of Art Museum Curators (AAMC) and the Costume Society of America.

Her scholarly interests in decorative arts include the history of carpets, textiles, dress, ceramics and silver, with an emphasis on English decorative arts. She is an alumna of the Attingham Summer School 2012 and Attingham Study Programme 2013 and 2016, all organized by the Attingham Trust for the Study of Historic Houses and Collections.

Art is important, and buying art should be inspiring, fun and meaningful. Let’s create layered, storied, and “collected” spaces through a better understanding of art and design.

Telling an Art Story

Let’s look at your space. Let’s look at the story behind the art and the artist. Let’s use travel and explore the “old and new” of a place. However we engage, you can always expect a thorough, thoughtful, and individual experience as we work together to let art tell its story.

The Process

Project Scope & Framework

I’m going to assess the scope of your curation, art buying, or design needs & establish time frame, budget, and agreement.

Investigation, Style & Space

I’m going to ask what you like, what challenges you, what makes you think, and look at the design choices & concepts already in the room or space.

Purchase & Installation

We’re going to make those final buying decisions, I’ll facilitate the purchase and handle installation, shipping & insurance.

Documentation

Don’t forget the story! I always want you to have physical documentation of the art’s credentials, but also its story, for you & your visitors.
